The French region of Alsace has long been recognised for producing benchmark Pinot Gris. It's not hard to see why here. With it's apricot, apple skin and honeyed flavours, richness and silky texture, it's a charmer. It finishes immaculately clean and dry. After a little skin contact estate grown fruit was fermented and held on light lees for 10 months.

Established in 1708, Charles Frey took over this small estate in the north east of France from his father in 1958. Charles' sons have since converted the vineyards to biodynamic practices, and now the grandchildren are involved. Three generations, estate owned vineyards, and both classics and more progressive wines styles - the future of is looking bright here.
